Important information for existing Bendigo Blue Debit Card customers
At the Bendigo the security of your account and your money is important to us. That’s why we’ve added new chip technology to your Bendigo Blue Debit Card.
Widely used around the world, chip technology is now the global standard for debit and credit card security.
The new chip is embedded on the front of your card above the card number. The chip securely stores your card’s data, making it harder to fraudulently copy your card. The chip does not contain any of your personal information or details.
Current Bendigo Blue Debit Card customers will receive an upgraded Bendigo Blue or Business Blue Debit MasterCard in the mail when their current card expires or is replaced.
Things you need to know
| Activate your new Blue Debit MasterCard before you use it |
To protect your money and the security of your card, you need to activate it.
Simply call 1300 BENDIGO (1300 236 344), press ‘0’ then ‘4’ and let us know you’ve received it safely. One of our friendly staff will activate your card immediately. |
| Will my PIN change? |
Bendigo Bank has upgraded its systems for secure chip technology. As a result some Blue Debit Card customers will be issued with a new PIN.
You’ll be notified if your PIN has changed for your new card and you will receive a new PIN by mail.
If you do not receive a new PIN and would like to change it, you can do so at selected Bendigo Bank ATMs. |
| A new card number |
Your new Blue Debit MasterCard has a new card number.
Initially, any regular payments you have linked to your old card number (eg gym memberships, subscriptions, etc) will be automatically redirected to your new card number.
In due course, you should advise these merchants or retailers of your new card number to ensure your payments continue uninterrupted.
To assist you with this task you can use our handy letter template.
You will also need to update any online shopping sites you use, such as EziBuy or PayPal. Or they may prompt you for your new card number next time you make a purchase.
Please note, your account number has not changed, so any direct debits, direct credits or periodical payments (including your salary and any government payments) won’t be affected.

| Why Debit MasterCard? |
Bendigo Bank is partnering with MasterCard to bring our customers the benefits of new chip technology and other card features at no extra cost.
Please note, the fees, charges, terms and conditions remain the same. In fact, your new card offers a new level of security at no extra cost, as well as access to MasterCard Applause. |
